Set up a Christmas tree in this box alive with color from Americana Decor® Outdoor Living™.

SUPPLIES

• water container
• paper towels
• stylus or pencil
• transfer paper
• sandpaper
• painter's tape
• 2" flat brush
• #1 and #2 round brushes
• screwdriver
• 1" angled brush
• wooden box with handles

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

Allow the paint to dry fully before continuing to the next step.

1. Sand any rough edges on the box. Use a screwdriver to remove hardware from the box. Set hardware and screws aside; these will need to be re-installed after the painting of the box is completed.

2. Paint the box with Picket Fence. Add a second coat of paint, if needed. Let dry completely.

3. Choose one of the longer sides of the wood box to transfer the pattern to. Lay the transfer paper, shiny side down, against the box. Center and lay the printed pattern on top of the transfer paper. Tape the edges of the paper to hold it in place. Use a pencil to trace the image. Apply gentle pressure as you trace to ensure that the image is transferred successfully.

4. Use a small paintbrush to fill in the transferred pattern. (See photo for color placement.) Add highlights of Picket Fence to the truck wheels and a door handle on the truck in Iron Gate for added detail. Paint the inside of the box with Rock Garden using the 1" angled brush. Let dry.

5. Re-install the metal handles onto the box.

6. Fill the finished box with natural elements to complete the farm fresh look.
