SUPPLIES

• water container
• palette or plastic plate
• paper towels
• E6000 glue
• pencil
• #12 flat brush
• 3/4" glaze/wash brush
• small sea sponge
• 120-grit sandpaper
• brown paper bag
• 100-grit sandpaper
• 11" x 11" x 8" wooden bin
• 3" x 5" wooden scallop frame
• 1-1/2" wooden letters
• candle

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

1. Using the 120-grit sandpaper, sand the letters, frame, and bin smooth. Remove any dust with a damp paper towel.
2. Remove the glass and papers from the frame and pull out the tabs that hold the photo in the frame. Position the top edge of the frame 5/8" from the top of the bin and center it on the bin front. Trace around the outside and inside of the frame with a pencil.
3. Using the #12 flat brush, base coat the inside of the frame lines Orange Twist. (Paint over the pencil lines a little.)
4. Using 3/4" wash/glaze brush, basecoat bin around outside of frame with 3:1:1 mix of Citron Green Snow White Hauser Light Green.
5. Using the #12 flat brush, base coat the letters Dark Chocolate and scallop frame Light Cinnamon.
6. Using a piece of brown paper bag, sand all the pieces smooth. Remove any dust with a damp paper towel.
7. Add multiple coats of paint as needed.
8. Rub a candle over the edges of the letters and on the sides and fronts here and there.
9. Paint over the letters with Snow White. Using 100-grit sandpaper, sand over the edges and fronts and sides of the letters until desired amount of Dark Chocolate shows through.
10. Mix equal amounts of Staining/Antiquing Medium and Orange Twist and paint over the letters. Remove the stain with a paper towel and then with a damp paper towel. Repeat if more staining is desired.
11. Using a small sea sponge, sponge over inside rectangle of the frame with Burnt Orange and again with Pumpkin.
12. Using 100-grit sandpaper, sand around the frame until desired effect is achieved.
13. Set the bin on its back with the front side facing up. Using E6000 adhesive, glue the frame to the front of the bin along the pencil lines, and center and glue the letters inside the frame.
