Other supplies

  • tracing paper
  • transfer paper
  • craft glue
  • galvanized metal container (Hobby Lobby)
  • #1 round brush
  • small and medium brushes
  • pen or pencil
  • wooden beads (3 for buns)
  • wooden dowel rods (3 - Hobby Lobby)
  • grey graphite paper
  • wooden heart shape (6 - Hobby Lobby)
  • wooden dolls (3 - Hobby Lobby)


  1. Use a pen or pencil and the tracing & transfer papers to transfer the lettering pattern onto the front of the planter.

  2. Use a round brush to paint "fairy" on with Flamingo and the "garden" on with White Birch.

  3. Use a small brush to paint the fairy faces: hair, wood beads, and eyes in Cocoa Bean and mouth and cheeks in Flamingo.

  4. Use a medium brush to paint the fairy dresses in Flamingo, Turf Green, and Pumpkin Patch. (Leave the arms unpainted.)

  5. Use craft glue to adhere the wooden beads (buns) to the top of the heads.

  6. Mix Flamingo, Turf Green, and Pumpkin Patch with Cotton Ball to create pastel versions. Using a medium brush, paint the hearts (wings, two per fairy). Let dry and adhere with craft glue. (Refer to photo for placement). Use craft glue to glue the fairies to the wooden dowels.
