Napkins and place mats with forest images are easy to create with SoSoft® Fabric Paint.
SUPPLIES
- scissors
- iron
- masking tape
- small flat brush
- colored pencils
- wood board
- cardstock
- cloth napkin
- fabric place mat
INSTRUCTIONS
- Gather as many white cloth napkins as needed for your table settings. (I used 19" square napkins.) Iron to take out any wrinkles.
- Gather as many white cloth place mats as needed for your table settings, sized 19"x 14". Iron to take out any wrinkles.
- Print out the provided acorn and leaf patterns on a piece of cardstock and cut out.
- Spread out the place mat and tape it onto a board. Using a green colored pencil, trace three acorns onto the edges of each place mat. (TIP: Customize even more by varying the sizes of acorns and their placement. Think about how the charger will be placed on the place mat to determine the composition of images.)
- Using a small flat brush, paint the acorn spapes with Avocado Green. Allow to dry. Apply a second coat, if needed. Let dry.
- Fold the napkin into quarters, vertically. (See photo.) Using an orange colored pencil, trace two leaves onto the napkin, leaving a space in between for a placeholder.
- Using a small flat brush, paint the leaves with Cadmium Orange Hue. Allow to dry. Apply a second coat, if needed. Allow to dry completely.
- Iron the creases of the napkins so they are nice and flat. (Be careful not to put the hot iron directly on the fabric paint.)
- Add the place mat and napkin to the Woodland-Themed Fall Charger Plate and the Woodland-Theme Place Card to make a complete table setting.
- Use the Woodland Themed Table Décor to complete the fall tablescape.
