SUPPLIES

    • paper towels
    • rubbing alcohol
    • hot glue gun
    • rubber gloves
    • hot glue gun and glue sticks
    • palette knife
    • assorted ribbon
    • decanter
    • Silhouette electronic cutting machine
    • Con-Tact® paper

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Wash the decanter and wipe it with rubbing alcohol using a paper towel. Pick out a design for a stencil online or draw your own.
    2. Trace the stencil or design onto Con-Tact paper.
    3. Using the Silhouette electronic cutter or an X-Acto or craft knife, cut out the stencil. Carefully remove the part where you want the Easy Etch Glass Etching Cream to go.
    4. Peel the paper off the stencil and apply it to the decanter. Make sure all the edges are smoothed down tightly.
    5. While wearing rubber gloves, apply Easy Etch to the surface you would like to etch in a thick, even application using a palette knife. (Make sure you cover the area completely with the cream.) Wait 15 minutes and rinse off. Peel off the stencil.
    6. Dress up the top of the decanter using pieces of ribbon. (I used a 1-1/2"-wide gold ribbon and a dark green braid.) Tie the ribbon onto the decanter or use a glue gun.
