Elves at Work Frame

Frame a pair of holiday photos with Americana® Acrylics in a scene right out of Santa's workshop.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- pencil
- #3 round brush
- 3/4" flat brush
- #6 flat brush
- 12" square wooden frame
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush to paint the entire frame Indian Turquoise.
- Trace and transfer the design outlines with a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers.
- Basecoat all the traced images in Snow White with a #6 flat brush.
- Reapply, trace, and transfer the paper and retrace all details.
- Using the #6 flat brush, paint the bottom present Santa Red with Sour Apple circles.
- Outline the circles and fill in the ribbon on the bottom present with Festive Green on the #3 round brush.
- Use the #3 round brush and Flesh Tone to paint the top of the elf's face and hands, leaving the circle Snow White for his eye.
- Paint the top elf's shirt and every other stripe on his tights with the same brush and Sour Apple.
- Use the same brush and Santa Red to paint the top elf's shoes, every other stripe on his tights, and the hat.
- Paint the top elf's overalls and hat rim Festive Green with the #3 round brush.
- Use the same brush and Cadmium Yellow to paint the hair, bells, and buttons on the top elf.
- On the top present, use the #6 flat brush to paint five Festive Green stripes and four vertical Sour Apple stripes.
- Use the #3 round brush and Santa Red for the ribbon at the top of the present and to outline the stripes with curvy lines.
- Use a #3 round brush to paint the hands and ears of the elf holding the top present Flesh Tone.
- Use the same brush and Santa Red to paint the rim of the hat, shirt, and every other stripe on the tights of the elf.
- With the #3 round brush and Festive Green, paint the hat, overalls, every other stripe on the tights, and the shoes on the elf holding the top present.
- Use the same brush and Cadmium Yellow to paint bells and buttons.
- On the bottom elf, use the #3 round brush to paint the hands Flesh Tone.
- Use the same brush to paint the shirt and shoes of the bottom elf Santa Red.
- With the #3 round brush and Sour Apple, paint the hat and overalls.
- Use the same brush to paint the bells and buttons Cadmium Yellow.
- Outline everything, add buttonholes, and add top elf's eye with Lamp Black.
