SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • scissors
    • hot glue gun
    • X-Acto® knife
    • clear fishing line
    • ceramic vase
    • papier mâché egg
    • paintbrushes
    • faux straw
    • faux cherry blossom stems

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. You can purchase "pre-hatched" eggs, or use an X-Acto knife and easily "hatch" your own by cutting a zig-zag shape in the round. Save the shells that are removed.

    3. Paint the eggs and cracked shells in Treasure, Serene, and Preservation. Paint the interiors in Inheritance.

    5. Paint the interiors and the edge where it's "cracked" in Vintage Brass.

    7. Use an X-Acto knife to cut a small hole into the top of each egg shape.

    9. Cut fishing line and thread it through into a loop and secure with hot glue.

    11. Cut the faux straw into strips small enough to sit in the bottom of each egg.

    13. Fill a large ceramic vase with the faux cherry blossom stems. Hang an egg in various places, bending the stems to fill the area and hang where desired. Fill the eggs with candy and display as a centerpiece or use for a tablescape, decorating the area around the tree with the extra egg shells and candy.
