Apply Gesso to both pages and allow to dry completely. Position map paper from the Olde Worlde Decou-page paper so that it is even with the bottom and sides of the page spread. Place weights on the left hand page to hold in place.
2. Lift the paper from the right hand page and lightly lay it back over the left page. Apply Matte Medium to the right page. While still wet, gently lay paper back down, smoothing from the spine toward the outer edge with an old credit card to help eliminate wrinkles. Because it was aligned previously it should fit the page perfectly. Lift the paper on the left page, apply Matte Medium and while wet, smooth the paper down. Apply a second coat of Matte Medium over both pages.
3. Using Paynes Grey and a cosmetic sponge, stencil portions of the Brocade and Berry Borders design randomly on the water areas of the map. Work from the right side and fade off at an angle onto the left page. Use the stamp pad to stamp various butterflies, from the Stampendous Butterflies set, on the stenciled images and the continents.
Mix Cyan Blue and Translucent White (1:3) and create a sheer wash by adding a generous amount of water to the mix. Apply the wash to the stenciled water areas of the map. While still wet, pounce over the wash with a crumpled baby wipe to create an interesting mottled effect.
Repeat previous step with a sheer wash of Ultramarine Blue and Translucent White (1:2) to create an interesting color variation
Place a small puddle each of Dairylide Yellow, Burnt Sienna and Quinacridone Burnt Orange on the palette. Add a small amount of water by each puddle and pull some paint into the water to create a wash. Randomly apply each of the washes to the continents blending where they touch each other while wet. Apply light touches of the Burnt Sienna and Dairylide Yellow washes on the stamped butterfly images.
Stencil the words Earth, Art and “EH” using Black Gesso and the Urban Ink Shadow stencil. Cut out typewriter key letters from the Olde Worlde Deco-page paper to create the words "the", "without" and "is just". Working one word at a time, apply Matte Medium to the page, position the letters and apply a second coat of Matte Medium over the letters.
Use a baby wipe to lightly apply Paynes Grey along the outer edges of the pages to frame the design.
Apply a coat of Ultra Matte Varnish on both pages. This helps to prevent the pages from sticking together.
