Dry-Brushed Chalky Finish Frame
Posted by DecoArt on Oct 29th 2014
Dragging a lighter color of Chalky Finish paint over a darker one creates a simple, yet dramatic, look.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- paper towels
- wax or varnish
- 2" chip brush
- 1" painter's tape
- 2" foam brush
- wooden frame
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Dry-brushing or dragging requires very little paint on the brush. Load paint on the brush bristle tips and wipe off excess on a paper towel before applying to the surface.
- Use a 2" foam brush to paint the frame Relic. Let dry.
- Working with one section at a time, position strips of painter's tape diagonally at the frame corners. Using very little pressure, drag a bristle brush lightly loaded with Serene across the surface. Let dry.
- Reposition the painter's tape for the next section. Repeat the dragging step for each side of the frame.
- Leave the frame as is or apply a wax or varnish finish of your choice.
