Measure off 1/2 inch stripes around the bottom of the recipe box using the pencil and ruler.
Fill in half of the stripes using Lace and the 3/8" flat brush.
Fill in the other half of the stripes using Timeless and the 3/8" flat brush.
Paint the top of the box with Relic using the 3/4" flat brush.
Place stencil on top of the box and hold with painter's tape.
Using the cosmetic sponge and Lace, stamp the paint lightly over the stencil. Remove the stencil.
Print out the pattern that says "Recipes" and trace with a pencil and tracing paper. Cut out the traced word and scribble all over the back with a pencil.
Place the word where you want it and secure with painter's tape. Trace over the word with a sharp pencil. Take off the tracing and fill in the word with Relic and the #2 round brush.
Distress the box and top using sandpaper paying extra attention to edges.
Screw the knob into the hole of the top of the box.
HELPFUL HINTS
If your box doesn't have a knob, you will need to drill a hole with a small drill bit before screwing the knob in. Or you could use a wooden knob and just glue it on using craft glue.
Let paint dry between steps.
Apply multiple coats as needed.
