Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics

  • Gold (Metallic) (DA553)

Dazzling Metallics®

  • Teal (DA322)

Other supplies

  • water container
  • paper towels
  • scissors
  • hot glue gun
  • 1/2" flat brush
  • 1/4" flat brush
  • 1" painter's tape
  • cosmetic sponge
  • lamp (flea market find)
  • beaded fringe (Hobby Lobby)

NOTE: Let dry completely between painting steps.

  1. Paint the lamp base with Gold Metallic using the 1/2" flat brush.
  2. Using the 1/4" flat brush, paint the top and bottom rim of the lampshade Gold Metallic.
  3. Hold the Brocade Motif Stencil in the center of the one side of the lampshade with the 1" painter's tape. Using the cosmetic sponge, pounce the inside of the stencil with Teal.
  4. Repeat on each side of the lampshade, washing the stencil before starting another side.
  5. Using the hot glue gun, attach the beaded fringe to the under side of the bottom edge of the lampshade. When you have gone all the way around the shade, cut off the excess and glue down the ends.

Apply additional coats of paint as needed.

Use very little paint on the cosmetic sponge and gradually layer paint until you reach desired coverage.

If the lamp has a round shade, you can repeat the stencil or just do it once.
