SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • paper towels
    • stylus or pencil
    • sandpaper
    • ruler
    • painter's tape
    • cosmetic sponge
    • 3/8" flat brush

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Measure off 1/2 inch stripes all over the top of the book stand with a ruler and pencil. Wrap the stripes around the edge of the top.
    2. Fill in half of the stripes with Lace using the 3/8" flat brush. Wrap the painted stripes around the edge.
    3. With Timeless, fill in the rest of the stripes on the top using the 3/8" flat brush. Wrap the painted stripes around the edge.
    4. Using the 3/4" flat brush, paint the middle of the stand with Relic.
    5. Paint the bottom of the stand with Timeless and the 3/4" flat brush.
    6. Decide how to place the Brocade Motif stencil. My stencil was a little long so I put painter's tape over the areas I didn't want to use. Attach the stencil to the top using painter's tape.
    7. Attach the Traditional Medallion stencil to both corners of the top using painter's tape. If you only have one stencil, you will have to do one at a time.
    8. Using the cosmetic sponge, lightly stamp Relic over your stencils.
    9. Remove the stencils and distress the piece with sandpaper paying extra attention to the edges.
