Remove any stickers and any sticky film left behind. If needed, sand the crates and wipe away with a damp paper towel.
Using a 1-1/2" flat brush, paint one crate each in Treasure, New Life, or Legacy.
When dry, use a 1/2" flat brush to dry-brush Vintage onto the crate surfaces.
Apply a coat of Clear Crème Wax using a 2" flat brush. Let dry. When dry, use a soft, dry cloth to buff in a circular motion.
Lightly dip the tip of another dry cloth in Golden Brown Crème Wax and apply to just the edges of the crate.
Paint the wooden knobs in a light color. Place the knob upside down on the Americana Decou-Page Ikat Paper in the area where you would like the pattern on the knob. Trace around and cut out. Apply Americana Matte Decou-Page to the top and the edge of the knob. Smooth the paper over the edges with a brush and apply another coat of Decou-Page on top of the paper.
Apply E6000 Glue to the knobs and attach them to one of the crates, as desired.
Measure the inside of the crate. Cut out the coordinating size of white foam core board that is slightly smaller than the inside of the crate. Measure and cut the same Decou-Page paper to size.
Apply Decou-Page to the foam core. Quickly lay the paper on top. Lightly load the 1-1/2" brush with the Decou-Page and apply starting from the center of the surface, working outward. Remove any wrinkles or bubbles with fingers.
Attach the foam core to the back of the crate using E6000 Glue according to the packaging instructions.
HELPFUL HINTS
When removing stickers, it helps to heat the sticker with a hairdryer on low for about 30 seconds. Use an old credit card to push under the sticker, pealing it back as you go until it is fully removed.
When using Decou-Page Papers, it helps to wet the paper first to get a smooth finish.
