INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Let dry completely between painting steps.

  1. Sand the nightstand to remove any rough edges. Use glass cleaner to clean the surfaces thoroughly. Remove the drawer pull.
    Step 0 Example
  2. Use a pencil and ruler to mark straight lines on the dresser for the tape placement along the top and sides. Place painter's tape along the marked lines, pressing firmly along the edges to create crisp lines.
    Step 1 Example
  3. Using a 2" flat brush, paint the center stripe in Legacy. (Apply coats as needed for opacity, allowing the paint to dry completely between coats.)
  4. Repeat taping off for the Everlasting stripe. Use a 1" flat brush to paint between the lines.
    Step 3 Example
  5. Tape off a final time, and paint the outer-edge stripe in Primitive. Attach a drawer handle of your choice.
  6. Select a piece of scrapbook paper for the inside liner of the drawer and bottom storage area. Cut to size. Apply a layer of Americana Matte Decou-Page to the surface where the paper will be placed. Position the paper and remove any bubbles or wrinkles. Apply another layer of Matte Decou-Page on top of the paper. Repeat for both papers.
    Step 5 Example
  7. Position and tape down the stencils for the top of the nightstand. Use a cosmetic sponge or stencil brush to apply Carbon to the stencil.
    Step 6 Example
  8. Use a 2" flat brush to apply Light Satin Varnish to the entire painted surface.
    Step 7 Example
  9. Remove the mirror and metal hooks from the wooden frame using a screwdriver. Sand the frame surface if needed and clean with glass cleaner.
    Step 8 Example
