  • scissors
  • vintage image ephemera
  • glue
  • rubber bands
  • eye screws
  • photo tabs
  • wood round slice
  • jute twine
  • hot glue gun (and glue)
  • 1" ribbon
  • 1" paintbrush


NOTES: Wipe down any flat wooden surfaces to remove debris. Allow paint to dry before continuing to the next step.

  1. Paint the flat surface of the wood slice in festive holiday colors.

  2. Dab metallic paint on the raw bark for a decorative effect.

  3. Center the vintage postcard on the flat, painted surface and glue photo tabs in place.

  4. Or decoupage a printed image onto the painted surface.

  5. Insert an eye hook at the top of the wood slice.
    Step 4 Example
  6. Knot a loop of twine through the eye hook for hanging and hot glue a festive ribbon bow to wood slice above the graphic.

  7. Hang on a doorknob.
    Step 6 Example


Use a rubber band to hold the postcard or vintage graphic in place so that you can easily glue down the photo tabs in the right places.

Once hanging, twist the eye screw as needed to ensure the Christmas "Door-nament" hangs perfectly.
