For the dyeing yarn, mix the SoSoft Fabric Paints with water: one bowl of grey (Lamp Black with White 1:3) and one bowl each of Indian Turquoise, Red Pepper, and Bright Coral.
Dip equal amounts of yarn into each color/water mix.
Wring out the yarn and hang to dry completely.
Using paint bottles, wrap a good amount of yarn around two bottles. (See photo.)
Tie the center securely with a long piece of yarn.
Take the bottles out, leaving a ball shape. (See photo.)
Cut the loops.
Trim the pom-pom until you have the desired shape.
Measure out and trim the duck canvas if needed.
Wet the canvas and wring out the water.
Spread out the canvas and pour on the watered Bright Coral.
Pat with paper towels or wring out.
Hang to dry.
Steam iron the canvas.
Fold in and iron the edges. Use permanent fabric glue or sew to hem the edges.
Attach the pom-poms to the ends of the canvas. (I made five big ones for each end.)
Using a pencil and a straight edge, draw various lines on each end of the runner.
Fill in the lines and make designs using the listed SoSoft Fabric Paints.
Use a flat brush to get clean edges. Let dry completely.
