SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • 3/4" oval brush
    • tea towel
    • freezer paper
    • fabric glue
    • mini pompom
    • bowl
    • rubber bands
    • 10" white doily

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Spread out freezer paper to protect the work surface, if needed.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Wet the tea towels and wring out the water. For the first towel, gather the center and bind tightly with a rubber band.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Place a second rubber band. (See photo.)
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Continue to do this throughout the entire surface of the tea towel.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Mix Bright Coral with water in a bowl. (The more paint added, the brighter the color.)
    10. Instruction #5
    11. Dab on the watered paint with an oval brush.
    12. Instruction #6
    13. Mix Red Pepper with water and add that to the towel as well.
    14. Instruction #7
    15. Mix Indian Turquoise with water and add to the tips of the gathered towel. Let partially dry.
    16. Instruction #8
    17. When the towel is almost dry but still damp, remove the rubber bands.
    18. Instruction #9
    19. Flatten or hang to dry the rest of the way.
    20. Instruction #10
    21. For the second tea towel, wet and wring out. Flatten onto the work surface and add Indian Turquoise mixed with water to one end, using an oval brush.
    22. Instruction #11
    23. Splatter some of the watered Indian Turquoise randomly on the towel for some variation.
    24. Instruction #12
    25. Splatter some of the Bright Coral/water mix in the middle.
    26. Instruction #13
    27. On the other end, paint on a mix of Red Pepper and water.
    28. Instruction #14
    29. You will have something like this (see photo). You can leave to dry as is or continue with the next step.
    30. Instruction #15
    31. Bunch up the towel end to end.
    32. Instruction #16
    33. Wring out.
    34. Instruction #17
    35. Unfold and flatten or hang to dry.
    36. Instruction #18
    37. Wet the doilies and pompom trim with water and wring out.
    38. Instruction #19
    39. For the first doily, dab the edges with a Indian Turquoise/water mix using a brush.
    40. Instruction #20
    41. Continue with mixes of Bright Coral and water and Red Pepper and water.
    42. Instruction #21
    43. For the second doily, start dabbing edge with watered Red Pepper, followed by watered Bright Coral, and finally by watered Indian Turquoise.
    44. Instruction #22
    45. Dab the desired color onto pompom. (I used the Indian Turquoise/water mix blue for this one.)
    46. Instruction #23
    47. I use the Red Pepper/water mix with a touch of the Bright Coral for the other trim. Let trim dry.
    48. Instruction #24
    49. Once everything is completely dry, use permanent fabric glue to affix the doilies and trim.
    50. Instruction #25
    51. Do the same with the other towel.
    52. Instruction #26
    53. Allow to dry completely per bottle instructions.
    54. Instruction #27
