- This painted glass vase is a great Mother's Day gift idea. Take a simple clear, glass vase and personalize it with a meaningful message for any Mom painted with Glass Paints and Opaque Glass Paint Markers. Start with any size glass vase. A wide cylinder shape works great for this design.
- Clean the surface of the vase by wiping with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel. (This removes any oils or dirt.) Apply Beige Glass Paint to the entire glass cylinder surface, using a cosmetic sponge in a dabbing motion. Allow to dry. Apply a second coat of Beige with a soft, medium-sized oval brush with even strokes. Allow to dry.
- Print out the provided patterns and cut out with scissors to make the shape templates. Trace the shapes onto the vase with a pencil. (TIP 1: Practice the layout to see what you like best before you trace. TIP 2: Add your own shapes or personal message.)
- Paint the organic shapes with the Glass Paint colors: Dijon, Soft Violet, Dark Green, and Terra Cotta. Use a soft brush in the size that is appropriate for each shape. Allow to dry and apply a second coat if needed.
- When the paints are dry, add a nice details using the Black Opaque Glass Marker. (TIP: When adding the black lines/dots, don't follow along the edges of the paint colors. Instead ,paint the line right inside or outside the color edges to give a nice modern look.)
- This glass vase painting idea is perfect for a table centerpiece, home décor, a personalized gift, and more.
