INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Find an old table that needs a makeover. Wipe down the table to remove any dirt or oil. (NOTE: No need to sand before painting.)
    Step 0 Example
  2. With a medium round brush, paint the entire surface of the table, excluding the top, with Romance. Allow to dry.
    Step 1 Example
  3. Paint on a second coat and allow to dry completely.
    Step 2 Example
  4. Mask off stripes of any width on the top of the table. (I did not measure spacing; just placed tape where I wanted the stripes to be.)
    Step 3 Example
  5. Paint alternating lines on the table top with Carbon and a medium round brush. Allow to dry.
    Step 4 Example
  6. Paint on second coat of for even coverage. Remove the tape.
    Step 5 Example
  7. Allow to dry completely.
    Step 6 Example
  8. Mask off the Carbon stripes and begin to paint alternating lines using Lace. Allow to dry. Apply a second coat for even coverage.
    Step 7 Example
  9. Remove the tape and allow to dry.
    Step 8 Example
  10. Mask off each table leg with masking tape approximately halfway up. With a makeup sponge, dab on Gold to create a faux "dipped" metallic leg. Allow to dry.
    Step 9 Example
  11. Dab Gold around the trim of the table. Allow to dry.
    Step 10 Example
  12. Paint Gold with a medium round brush onto the previously dabbed areas. Apply an even coverage and allow to dry.
    Step 11 Example
  13. Remove the masking tape. (Tip: For a clean line, score the line along the edge of the tape with a craft knife before removal.)
    Step 12 Example
  14. With a 2" chip brush, drag Keepsake across the Romance-painted surface.
    Step 13 Example
  15. Leave some of the Romance paint peeking through for a textured look.
    Step 14 Example
  16. Allow the paint to dry completely. With a clean, soft cloth (a piece of old t-shirt works perfectly), apply Clear Crème Wax. Allow to dry and buff with another clean piece of soft cloth. (Applying Crème Wax allows for a sturdier, fingerprint free table.)
    Step 15 Example
  17. Enjoy.
