DIY Congrats Graduate Card

Make a special card for your favorite grad with DecoArt Media!

SUPPLIES

    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • scissors
    • ruler
    • #10 flat brush
    • palette knife
    • jute or hemp cord
    • black cardstock
    • #1 round brush
    • cardstock
    • Silhouette electronic cutting machine
    • pen or pencil
    • vellum
    • Scotch tape

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Fold your white cardstock in half.
    2. Use a flat brush to paint horizontal stripes in this color order: Naphthol Red, Orange, Diarylide Yellow, Primary Yellow, Green Gold, Green, Cobalt Turquoise Hue, Cyan Blue, and Dioaxazine Purple.
    3. Use a star stencil of choice with modeling paste and a palette knife until fully coating the front of the card.
    4. Use a pencil and ruler to measure the vellum to fit the middle of your card but still showing the sides. Adhere the vellum over the front of the card with scotch tape or glue dots on the inside of the cards.
    5. Use a pencil to trace and transfer the graduation hat pattern onto black card stock and cut out with scissors.
    6. Use a Silhouette machine to cut out the word "congrats" in font of choice onto cardstock. Use a round brush to paint the word and tassel on the grad hat on in Silver (Metallic).
    7. Use a flat brush with Matte Medium to adhere the grad hat and then the word "congrats" to the vellum.
    8. Use scissors to cut jute to wrap around the card a few times and tie in a bow then cut off excess.
