Paisley Punch Decou-Paged Jewelry Box

Americana® Decou-Page™ and Decou-Page Paper dress up this jewelry dresser.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • sandpaper
    • scissors
    • pencil
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • 1" foam brush
    • medium wooden jewelry box
    • spray bottle

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Thoroughly clean the jewelry box surface with a damp paper towel. Remove any handles.
    2. Using a 3/4" flat brush, paint the entire box and drawers in Desert Turquoise.

Lay the front of the drawers down on the reverse side of sheets from the Paisley Punch Decou-Page Paper pack: Trace and cut out two drawer fronts from the quatrefoil design and two from the paisley design. Lay the box on its side on the paisley paper and trace and cut two side pieces. Lay the top of the box down and trace and cut the top piece from the quatrefoil paper.

    6. With a foam brush, coat the front of the drawer with Americana Matte Decou-Page. Spray the back of the Decou-Page Paper with water. Position the Decou-Page Paper and remove any wrinkles with a finger. Apply another coat of Decou-Page onto the surface. Repeat until all drawers are covered.

    8. Repeat decoupaging onto the outside of the box.

    10. If needed, use a fine grit sandpaper to remove any edges that were cut too large. Sand in a downward motion gently until the Decou-Page Paper comes off. Re-attach any hardware.
