Decorative Garden Tote with Pots and Garden Tools

Add color to your gardening with a wooden tote and tools painted with Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • transfer paper
    • ruler
    • pencil
    • stylus
    • small round brush
    • large flat brush
    • cosmetic sponges
    • glazed ceramic pot
    • garden shovels
    • wooden tote
    • liner brush
    • medium brush

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. With a large flat brush, paint the tote with Turquoise Waters, inside and outside. Paint the side edges with Pink Tropics with a medium brush. Paint the edge and handle in Poppy. Let dry and apply a second coat to all.

    3. Mark the center on the front board. Press the largest flower from Funky Flowers stencil into the center. Use the cosmetic sponge and Shrimp to pounce on color. Use Canary for the flower center. With a small brush, use Poppy to outline the flower edges. Repeat on the other side.

    5. Use the cut-out provided leaf pattern to trace around the flowers. (Refer to photo.) Paint leaves in Inch Worm with a medium brush. Add Woodland Green to each leaf half, adding small lines with a liner brush.

    7. Place a small flower from the Funky Flowers stencil overlapping the large flower. Sponge with Canary. Add dots to the centers with Cocoa Bean. Add tiny dots of Canary on the leaves.

    9. Use Inch Worm and a medium brush to paint stripes on the Pink Tropics edge. Add a squiggle line with Turquoise Waters on top of every other green stripe. Add dots of Canary on each side of those stripes. Use Pink Cadillac and a liner brush to paint thin lines on each side of the second, fourth, and sixth stripe.
    10. Paint flowers and leaves as in Steps 2-4, starting on the left with Shrimp and Poppy, then Pink Cadillac and Pink Tropics. Finish with Canary flowers and leaves in Inch Worm and Woodland Green. (Refer to photo for placement.)

    12. On the glazed ceramic pot, pounce on the tiny flower stencil with Poppy on a cosmetic sponge, down slightly from the top edge. Repeat on the opposite side. Pounce a small flower stencil halfway between the Poppy flowers with Pink Tropics; repeat on the opposite side.

    14. Double-load a small brush with Inch Worm and Woodland Green; paint three leaves on each side of all four flowers on the ceramic pot. Dot the center of the flower with Cocoa Bean using the brush handle. Paint tiny dots on leaves with a stylus and Canary.
    15. Paint the handle of the garden shovel with Canary with the large flat brush. Paint a metal ring near the handle of the shovel with Poppy and a medium brush. Paint the shovel blade with a large brush and Turquoise Waters.

    17. With the large Funky Flower stencil, sponge with Pink Cadillac onto the shovel. (Refer to photo.) Use a small brush to apply Pink Tropics around the edges. Pounce the center with a cosmetic sponge and Canary. Pounce on a small flower with Canary.
    18. Using the small flower stencil and Pink Tropics, pounce three flowers going up the shovel handle. Double-load the small brush in Inch Worm and Woodland Green and paint the leaves.
    19. With the leaf pattern, trace leaves around the flowers on the shovel blade. Paint leaves in Inch Worm. Paint the leaf halves in Woodland Green; add small lines with a liner brush. With the handle end of a paintbrush, add Cocoa Bean dots to all small flower centers. Add tiny dots with a stylus and Canary on all leaves.
