Bright Day of the Dead Pumpkin

Brighten Halloween décor with this bright and shimmery Day of the Dead pumpkin
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- pencil
- #3 round brush
- 3/4" flat brush
- #6 flat brush
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- rhinestones
- 6" foam pumpkin
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- With a 3/4" flat brush, paint the entire pumpkin Warm White.
- Trace and transfer the design to the pumpkin with a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers.
- Use a #6 flat brush with Vivid Violet to fill in the flower petals on eyes and the design on the chin.
- Use a #6 flat brush and Saffron Yellow to fill in the centers of the eyes and of the flowers on the sides of the head.
- Paint flower petals on the sides of the head and nose with Tuscan Red and a #6 flat brush. Add a small amount of Lamp Black as you go up the nose and around the edges of the flower petals.
- Use a #6 flat brush and Indian Turquoise to outline the skull head, lines in the eyes, and teeth. Add a little Warm White to blend the teeth in the middle.
- Use a #3 round brush with Citron Green to outline the spider web and swirls on the cheeks.
- With #6 flat brush, go over Tuscan Red with Sizzling Red; Saffron Yellow with Gold Glitz; Citron Green with Limelight; and all other colors used with Ice Crystal.
- Use a #3 round brush and Lamp Black to add swirls by the mouth and outline the eyes, flowers, spider web, nose, teeth, and outer skull.
- Add rhinestones to the eyes with hot glue.
