    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Transfer the girl's face pattern onto watercolor paper using the transfer paper and pencil. Tear the newspaper into small pieces. Optional: print out the completed image of the girl and cut out.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Mix Titanium White, Transparent Yellow Iron Oxide, and Cadmium Orange Hue to make a flesh color. (Adjust to your preference.)
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Mix Ultra-Matte Varnish with Quinacridone Magenta and Primary Magenta to paint the hair, eyes, and lips. For the eyes, use a liner brush to create detail. For the hair, create a streaking effect by using a varying amount of water, fluid brush-strokes, and a #5 round brush. Use some solid paint to create depth. Use a 3/8" mop brush to add blushing on the cheeks.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Use Matte Medium to adhere the newspaper to random places on the girl's image. Paint back over the newspaper, as desired. Cut out the image and set aside.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. On a canvas, use a stencil of choice and Crackle Paste to leave stars or other shapes. Crinkle some of the newspaper and other scraps of paper, and adhere to them to random areas on the canvas.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. Use a palette knife to add Texture Sand Paste to various areas on the canvas.
    12. Instruction #6
    13. Spray Violet (Shimmer), Primary Magenta, and Purple on the canvas.
    14. Instruction #7
    15. Spray water on top of the colors and move the canvas around so the colors blend together.
    16. Instruction #8
    17. Apply some Translucent White on the center where the quote will go; use a brayer to spread the colors around. (The colors from the spray misters don't have to be completely dry for this step.)
    18. Instruction #9
    19. Using Matte Medium, adhere the girl cut-out to the canvas. Apply another coat of Matte Medium to top of the girl. Cut out the gold rub-on transfers for the canvas, headband, and other symbols. Position and rub on.
    20. Instruction #10
