Apply an even coat of Crackle Medium to the wooden shutter. (If you would like a different color to show through the cracks, apply a basecoat of choice and then the Crackle Medium.)
Paint over the dried Crackle Medium with Remembrance. (The paint will crackle almost immediately.)
Paint the Mason jar in Whisper.
Use a sanding tool to gently sand the raised areas of the jar to remove the paint. Use a soft cloth to remove the paint dust. Cure in an oven according to label instructions.
Wrap the neck of the jar with twine. Push the ends of the twine through the shutter and tie them in a knot on the back.
Make a loop with the excess twine and use that to hang the completed project.
