Add interest and a touch of the outdoors to a dresser front with Americana Decor® Chalky Finish™.

SUPPLIES

• sandpaper
• stencil brush
• 2" flat brush
• black permanent marker
• wooden dresser
• clean cloth and warm soapy water
• wood filler
• screwdriver
• waxing brush
• drawer hardware

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Prepare the dresser by removing the old hardware and cleaning all surfaces. Let dry. (If you plan to switch out the hardware, fill the holes that don't correspond with the new hardware using wood filler. Let filler dry and sand flat once dry.)
2. Paint the dresser with Everlasting using a 2" flat brush. Let dry.

3. Once dry, apply a second layer. Let dry.

4. Apply another layer of Everlasting for the desired coverage. Let dry.

5. Using the Americana Decor Wildflowers stencil, line up the stencil on the drawers and paint the flowers in Carbon using the stencil brush set. (It is helpful to mark where you left off on each drawer using a black permanent marker.)

6. Hand-paint to continue the stems that do not go completely to the bottom of the lowest drawer. Let dry.

7. Once the paint on the stencil dries, flip it over and use the reverse side for the opposite drawers. (See photo for placement.) Let dry.

8. Evenly distribute the colors of the stenciled flowers between Cherish and Inheritance. (Vary which flowers you use to give it more variation.)

9. Add more flowers in Smitten.

10. Add final flowers in Keepsake.

11. Let all paint dry completely.

12. Hand-distress the edges of the drawers and dresser using sandpaper. Clean off any sanding debris.

13. Using a waxing brush, apply Clear Crème Wax to all painted surfaces. Let dry.

14. Apply the new hardware or return the old.
