SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • assorted scrapbook paper
    • palette knife
    • paintbrushes
    • mini canvas

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Basecoat the canvases: one in Green Gold; one in Quinacridone Magenta; and one in Cobalt Turquoise Hue.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Tear pieces of scrapbook paper into small, rounded squares that resemble leaves and/or flowers. Tear a piece of scrapbook paper to the shape of a vase. (We used black and white colored paper for the vase and leaves. And vibrant colored pieces of paper were used for the flowers.) Adhere the pieces onto the canvas with Matte Medium.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Separately mix 20% paint (Titanium White, Carbon Black, Cadmium Red Hue, Quinacridone Magenta, Cadmium Yellow Hue, Cobalt Turquoise Hue, Dioxadine Purple, Green Gold, Phthalo Green-Yellow, and Yellow Oxide) and 80% Clear Modeling Paste. Apply each with a palette knife to build texture around the vase and on the flowers. (See photo.) Allow to dry.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Using the paints listed in Step 3 without the Clear Modeling Paste, continue to fill in the areas around and over the pieces of scrapbook paper to shape the vase, flowers, and leaves. To highlight background, flowers, and vases, mix Titanium White with the various colors to create highlighted areas.
