Coat Rack Headboard with Chalkboard Finish

Repurpose an old headboard into handy coat rack with erasable markings made with Americana® Clear Chalkboard Coating.
SUPPLIES
- paintbrush
- fine-grit sandpaper
- chalk
- old headboard
- Americana Acrylic color of choice (optional)
- primer (optional)
- hook and eye closure
- spackling paste
- coat hooks
INSTRUCTIONS
- Prime and paint the old headboard with Americana® Acrylic color of your choice or leave it with its original finish.
- Patch any holes with spackling paste and sand off the excess with fine-grit sandpaper.
- Apply one coat of Clear Chalkboard Coating vertically. Allow to dry.
- Apply one coat of Clear Chalkboard Coating horizontally. Allow to dry.
- After 24 hours, condition the surface by rubbing chalk over it.
- Add coat hooks along the top where you choose.
- Lean the chalkboard coat rack against a wall and secure it with hook and eye closure to prevent it from tipping forward.
