Hand-craft your own coastal wall decor. This DIY wall sign brings the perfect nautical theme to any space!
SUPPLIES
- - medium sized paintbrush
- wood sign
- wood letters
- thick craft glue
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
The Salt Wash Beach collection contains three, 2 oz bottles of paint in the following colors: Vintage Effects White, Vintage Effects Turquoise and Americana Bahama Blue. Also included is one, 2oz bottle of DecoArt Media Texture Sand.
For outdoor use be sure to seal with Dura Clear Varnish in finish of your choice.
- Saturate a medium flat brush with water, then load with Zinc. Using horizontal strokes, apply color to the board. The streaky effect with give the board an aged appearance.
- Basecoat each letter with Vintage Effects White. Let dry. Mix Bahama Blue and Texture Sand Medium 1:1. Brush onto surface leaving parts of basecoat showing. Let dry. Load brush with Vintage Effects Turquoise. Lightly brush in random areas. Let dry.
- Load brush with Vintage Effects White. Lightly brush in random areas.
- Use thick craft glue to adhere the letters to the board.
