Clothesline Cottage Birdhouse

Feather this nest with the homey colors of Americana® Acrylics.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- pencil
- #3 round brush
- 3/4" flat brush
- #10 flat brush
- mailbox-shaped wooden birdhouse
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Trace and transfer the fence onto all four sides of the birdhouse using a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers.
- Use the 3/4" flat brush and Bahama Blue to paint the rounded top.
- Use the #10 flat brush and Snow White to paint the fence on all sides, the front rim, and the perch.
- Use the #10 flat brush and Purple Cow to paint the front and back areas above the fence.
- Use the #10 flat brush and Burnt Umber to paint the back post.
- Use the 3/4" flat brush with Grey Sky to paint the front stoop.
- Use the #3 round brush and Grey Sky to outline the fence.
- Trace and transfer the remainder of the images.
- Use the #10 flat brush and Lamp Black to paint the welcome mat.
- Use the #3 round brush and Lamp Black to paint the clothesline and lines on the back post.
- Use the #10 flat brush and Bahama Blue to paint the front shutter.
- Use Citron Green with the #10 flat brush for grass and with the #3 round brush for the stems and grass patches.
- Use the #3 round brush to paint the flowers Purple Cow, Melon, and Primary Red. Fill the flower centers with Marigold.
- Use the #3 round brush and Snow White to paint "welcome" on the mat, details on the shutters, and the clothespins.
- Use the #3 round brush for clothes: shirt, Marigold; boxers, Snow White with Primary Red polka dots; pants, True Blue with Lamp Black details; socks, Citron Green with Lamp Black toes and heels; dress, Melon with Lamp Black polka dots; and long johns, Grey Sky with Primary Red stripes.
