Classroom Welcome Sign

Show Teacher some love with this timeless sign for her classroom, made with Americana® Acrylics/

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • stylus or pencil
    • transfer paper
    • paintbrushes
    • metal sign

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Mix French Mauve with Paint Adhesion Medium and paint the entire sign with the mix.

    3. Print off the patterns provided and transfer the image onto the sign using transfer paper.

    5. Paint the apple, pencil, and middle book in Terra Coral.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Paint the leaf on the apple, the metal wrap on the pencil, and the second book from the top in Blue Mist. (See photo.)

    9. Paint the stem of the apple, the top and bottom books, and the tip of the pencil in Thicket.

    11. Paint the remaining book in Frosted Plum.

    13. Add Frosted Plum linework to the areas painted in Terra Coral. Use Blue Mist for the areas painted in Thicket; Terra Coral in the areas painted Frosted Plum; and Thicket in the areas painted in Blue Mist. (Refer back to the pattern for placement.)

    15. Paint in "Home" and "Classroom" in Blue Mist and "sweet" in Frosted Plum. Let dry completely.

    17. Once dry, apply Triple Thick Gloss Glaze (aerosol) to the front of the sign, using several very thin layers to achieve the desired look. (Refer to the instructions on the bottle before spraying.)

    19. Use 24K Gold to add a drop shadow to all of the lettering and highlights on the apple and the leaf; on the metal wrap of the pencil; and in between the painted lines on the books.
