Stack up wooden boards into the shape of candy corn for a fall-themed accent piece.

SUPPLIES

• water container
• paper towels
• sandpaper
• pencil
• 1" foam brush
• twine
• wooden board
• E6000 Glue
• wood stain
• jigsaw

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

1. Cut the wood board to the following measurements: one each of 2" x 8" x 16"; 2" x 4" x 9"; 2" x 4" x 8"; 2" x 4" x 6"; and 2" x 4" x 5"; and two each of 2" x 6" x 12".
2. Set up each candy corn and stand them up to make sure they balance. (Turn them around until they do balance.) The large candy corn uses the 2"x 8" as the bottom, a 2"x 6" as a middle; and a 2" x 4" x 7" as the top. The medium candy corn uses the other 2"x 6" as the bottom, a 2" x 4" x 9" as a middle, and a 2"x 4"x 6" at the top. From the bottom up, the small candy corn uses the 8" x 2" x 4", the 7" x 2" x 4" and the 5"x 2" x 4".

3. Free-hand a candy corn onto each wooden shape. Try to use as much of the wood as possible.

4. Using a jigsaw, cut around the candy corn.

5. Sand each piece to get the rough edges off, making sure they still balance. If not, do some sanding to the bottoms until they do.

6. Paint the bottoms using School Bus; the middles in Pumpkin Patch, and the tops in Cotton Ball.

7. Sand again, focusing on the edges. Allow the bare wood to show through. In the areas where the wood is showing through, there will be a dark stain showing through at the end.

8. Stain each piece, removing excess stain with a paper towel.

9. Using E6000 Glue and packing instructions, adhere each candy corn together. Let dry. Once dry, embellish by wrapping a few strands of brown twine around the center portion of the candy corn.
