NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Using a sponge brush, paint wooden ornament shapes in solid colors, using Slate Grey, Calico Red, and Snow White.
- Paint the top of each ornament Zinc.
- TREE ORNAMENT (see photo, at left): Hot glue an arrangement of six buttons in rows (three; two; and then one on top) on Slate Grey ornament shape. Using a black permanent marker, trace a Christmas tree outline around the button tree. Add a little tree trunk and star at top, if you wish.
- SNOWMAN ORNAMENT (see photo, middle): Hot glue two white buttons to Calico Red ornament shape. Using a black permanent marker, add some dots for eyes and mouth. Draw two stick arms. Use a dash of Calico Red paint for a carrot nose.
- OWL TREE ORNAMENT (see photo, at right): Draw three branches with a black permanent marker on Snow White ornament shape. Hot glue owl buttons as you like on the tree branches. (Odd numbers of buttons, such as 3 or 5, work best.)
- If you wish to hang ornaments as a strand, loop red thread twice through the top hole of each ornament.
