Cute As A Button Flower Birdhouse

This wooden birdhouse accent gives a room a look that is anything but buttoned up.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- sandpaper
- pencil
- 3/4" flat brush
- #6 flat brush
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Sharpie® marker
- round wooden birdhouse
- colorful buttons of various sizes
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Remove the product label from the birdhouse before beginning project.
Allow to dry between painting steps.
- Use a 3/4” flat brush to basecoat the roof, Light Cinnamon; house, Bahama Blue; and base, Foliage Green, rinsing brush in between colors. Let dry completely.
- Use sandpaper to distress the roof and base slightly.
- Use pencil and the tracing and transfer papers to transfer the pattern onto front of the birdhouse.
- Use a #6 flat brush with Snow White to basecoat the flower petals. Rinse brush.
- Use a #6 flat brush with Foliage Green to fill in the stems and leaves. Rinse brush.
- Use a #6 flat brush to fill in flowers using Cadmium Yellow, Carousel Pink, Coral Blush, and Wild Orchid. Rinse brush in between colors.
- Use a #6 flat brush on its side with Snow White to add detail to leaves.
- Use Sharpie® marker to loosely outline the flowers, stems, and leaves.
- Use a glue gun to attach random buttons to the flower centers.
