Butterfly Decoupaged Birdhouse

Butterfly-themed scrapbook paper adds extra interest to a hexagon-shaped birdhouse.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • scissors
    • ruler
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • hexagon wooden birdhouse
    • craft knife
    • butterfly-themed scrapbook paper

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Paint the birdhouse with a 3/4" flat brush as follows: knob, Hydrangea Blue; top section, inside opening, and base, Raspberry Red; next section plus perch, Daisy Cream; and roof, Sweet Pea. (Refer to photo for color placement.)
    2. Cut the scrapbook paper to fit each section.
    3. Immerse the scrapbook paper in water to relax its fibers.
    4. Brush Americana Matte Decou-Page on one section of the birdhouse at a time. Position the scrapbook paper on the section, smoothing from the center out with fingers. Apply more Decou-Page over the paper. Repeat for each section. Let dry. Trim the edges with craft knife, if necessary.
