Butterfly Decoupaged Birdhouse

Butterfly-themed scrapbook paper adds extra interest to a hexagon-shaped birdhouse.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- scissors
- ruler
- 3/4" flat brush
- hexagon wooden birdhouse
- craft knife
- butterfly-themed scrapbook paper
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Paint the birdhouse with a 3/4" flat brush as follows: knob, Hydrangea Blue; top section, inside opening, and base, Raspberry Red; next section plus perch, Daisy Cream; and roof, Sweet Pea. (Refer to photo for color placement.)
- Cut the scrapbook paper to fit each section.
- Immerse the scrapbook paper in water to relax its fibers.
- Brush Americana Matte Decou-Page on one section of the birdhouse at a time. Position the scrapbook paper on the section, smoothing from the center out with fingers. Apply more Decou-Page over the paper. Repeat for each section. Let dry. Trim the edges with craft knife, if necessary.
