SUPPLIES

Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics

  • Apple Green (DA518)
  • Blue Bird (DA527)
  • Coastal Waters (DA523)
  • Flamingo (DA504)
  • Lemon Zest (DA513)
  • Purple Sunset (DA568)

Other supplies

  • water container
  • palette or plastic plate
  • paper towels
  • hot glue gun (with clear glue sticks)
  • fine point permanent marker
  • 5" x 7" canvas panel
  • branch (small)
  • small flat brush
  • pencil
  • assortment of round and flat rocks

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Wash and dry the rocks thoroughly before you start painting on them.

  1. BIRD ON A BRANCH: Paint the canvas board with Coastal Waters. Let dry.
  2. Paint the bird body and tail with Blue Bird. Let dry. Paint the bird's beak with Lemon Zest. Let dry.

  3. Position and glue the branch on the canvas.

  4. Use a pencil to draw leaves around the branch.

  5. Paint the leaves with Apple Green. Let dry.

  6. Outline and add details on the bird and leaves with a permanent marker pen.

  7. Position and glue the bird on the canvas.

  8. TURTLE: Paint a round rock with Apple Green and pebbles with Purple Sunset. Let dry.

  9. Use a brush handle end to make dots with Lemon Zest on the rock and two eyes on one pebble.

  10. Use a permanent marker to add eye pupils.
  11. Assemble and glue together.

  12. FLORAL VASE ROCK: Use a pencil to draw flower shapes on the rock.

  13. Paint the vase section with Coastal Waters. Let dry.

  14. Paint flowers with Flamingo, Lemon Zest, Blue Bird, and Purple Sunset. Let dry.
  15. Paint leaves with Apple Green. Let dry.

  16. Use a black permanent marker to outline and add details.

  17. Use a brush handle end and Flamingo to place dots on the vase area. Let dry.
