Bright Nature-Inspired Rocks

Make these rocks into bright works of art with Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- hot glue gun
- fine point permanent marker
- 5" x 7" canvas panel
- branch
- small flat brush
- pencil
- assortment of round and flat rocks
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Wash and dry the rocks thoroughly before you start painting on them.
- BIRD ON A BRANCH: Paint the canvas board with Coastal Waters. Let dry.
- Paint the bird body and tail with Blue Bird. Let dry. Paint the bird's beak with Lemon Zest. Let dry.
- Position and glue the branch on the canvas.
- Use a pencil to draw leaves around the branch.
- Paint the leaves with Apple Green. Let dry.
- Outline and add details on the bird and leaves with a permanent marker pen.
- Position and glue the bird on the canvas.
- TURTLE: Paint a round rock with Apple Green and pebbles with Purple Sunset. Let dry.
- Use a brush handle end to make dots with Lemon Zest on the rock and two eyes on one pebble.
- Use a permanent marker to add eye pupils.
- Assemble and glue together.
- FLORAL VASE ROCK: Use a pencil to draw flower shapes on the rock.
- Paint the vase section with Coastal Waters. Let dry.
- Paint flowers with Flamingo, Lemon Zest, Blue Bird, and Purple Sunset. Let dry.
- Paint leaves with Apple Green. Let dry.
- Use a black permanent marker to outline and add details.
- Use a brush handle end and Flamingo to place dots on the vase area. Let dry.
