    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Using 120-grit sandpaper, sand the two crates, the frame, and the plaque until smooth. Remove any dust with a damp paper towel.
    2. Using the 3/4" flat brush, base coat all the wooden pieces and the pot with Dark Chocolate.
    3. Sand all the wooden pieces smooth with a piece of brown paper bag. Remove any dust with a damp paper towel. Rub the crates and pot with the wax candle anywhere you want the Dark Chocolate to show.
    4. Using the 3/4" flat brush, paint over the crates and pot Snow White.
    5. Using 100-grit sandpaper, sand edges and over the surface of the crates and pot to reveal the Dark Chocolate.
    6. Using the 3/4" flat brush, apply Weathered Wood over plaque front following manufacturer's directions. Apply a coat of Snow White over the plaque.
    7. Using Microsoft Word Office, print out the name for plaque with Adobe Garamond Pro Bold font at font size of 72. Increase the size of the printed name by 175 percent at a print shop. (If name is larger than four or five letters, increase it by smaller percent to fit on the plaque.)
    8. Copy the name onto tracing paper and transfer onto the plaque using a ballpoint pen or stylus with graphite transfer paper underneath the tracing paper.
    9. Using a #5 round brush, paint the letters on the plaque with Lamp Black.
    10. Copy the pattern for "Est." and the year onto tracing paper and transfer onto the plaque, under the name, in the same way as before.
    11. Using the #2 liner brush, paint "Est." and year on the plaque with Lamp Black.
    12. Cut a piece of florist foam to fit inside the pot and push it in securely. Insert fall grasses into the florist foam. Push the dried Spanish moss into the pot to hide the foam. Wrap a 5/8" piece of brown ribbon around the pot, tie off into a bow, and trim the ends.
