Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Thoroughly clean bookcase with damp cloth and let dry.
- Choose paint colors. Shake jars and stir paint before use.
- Paint two coats of Timeless to entire surface using 2" flat brush and let dry.
- To create stripes, apply painter's tape to surface, creating a 3" wide and two 1" wide narrow strips. Extend tape across top and down both sides of bookcase. Use a pencil and ruler to get straight lines, if needed.
- Paint inside narrow spaces using dry-brush technique with Heritage and gently wipe with a wet paper towel. While paint is still wet, slowly peel away painter's tape.
- Choose your favorite stencil or create a stencil and place on wood surface. Using up and down motion, paint graphics with a stencil brush, using Carbon. Slowly and carefully lift off stencil while paint is still wet.
- Apply varnish with 2" flat brush.
- Measure shelf dimensions and cut decorative shelf paper to fit. Apply a coat of Outdoor Decou-Page to surface and apply paper. Smooth out any wrinkles and apply another coat of Decou-Page to surface. While the piece is not going outside, it will protect it against any spills or condensation.
- Drill five holes in the front of the bookcase and attach long hooks. Add coffee accessories including mugs, dish towels, and coffee canisters.
