Winter Birdhouse Cookie Container

A tweet treat is a great gift for the holidays created using Americana Multi-Surface Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • transfer paper
    • E6000 glue
    • pencil
    • 1" flat brush
    • #2 round brush
    • #0 liner brush
    • bottle or round container

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Using a 1" flat brush, apply a coat of Soft Jade to the can. Allow to the paint to dry completely between coats.

    3. Transfer the birdhouse in the provided template onto surface using transfer paper and a pencil.
    4. Using a #2 round brush, fill in the birdhouse with Red Barn. Use the same clean brush to paint the roof in Black Tie. Use a liner brush and #2 round brush to paint the stand in Cocoa Bean. Once dried, paint the snow with the #2 brush and Cotton Ball. If needed, allow the paint to dry completely between coats.

    6. Align template and transfer holly, bird, peg, and snowflakes onto surface with transfer paper.
    7. Paint Holly leaves around the base of the stand with the liner brush and Cactus paint. Using the liner brush, dot berries in the leaves with Lipstick paint. Paint the black entrance hole and the perch with the #2 brush and Black Tie. Paint the tip of the perch with the liner brush and Cotton Ball. Outline the bird on top of the birdhouse with Night Sky and fill in with Blue Bird. Paint the beak with School Bus.

    9. Paint three large snowflakes to the right of the birdhouse with Cotton Ball using the liner brush.

    11. Outline a bird head coming out of the entrance hole on the birdhouse with the Night Sky and liner brush. Fill in the bird's head with Blue Bird and the beak with School Bus.

    13. Paint five strings coming down from the birdhouse stand in different lengths with the liner brush and Black Tie. Paint small loops at the bottom of each string.

    15. Paint the remaining snowflakes on the left side with a liner brush in Cotton Ball. Freehand snow on top of the birdhouse and on the edges of the stand. Using the end of the paint brush, add dots of falling snow over the whole background.

    17. Adhere rhinestones in the center of each large snowflake. Using E6000, dip a toothpick in the glue and put on the back of the rhinestone to adhere. Adhere rhinestones at the bottom of each string as well. Adhere the string from the tag of your choice to the bird's beak.

    19. If needed, paint the outside of the plastic lid using a 1" flat brush in Cotton Ball.
