INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Using the Ultra-Matte Varnish, decoupage on tiny bits of torn vintage dictionary paper to the clock base.
- Add a thick layer of White Gesso around the edges of the clock using a foam brush. While still wet, use a texture tool to add texture to the Gesso.
- Paint a very thin layer of White Gesso in the middle of the base.
- Once the Gesso is dry, add color to the outside ring of Gesso. To reduce the color, spray it with water and then wipe off the excess.
- Add two more rings of color in Hansa Yellow Light and Blue Green Light. Dribble on splatters of other colors for interest.
- Seal again with Ultra-Matte Varnish.
- Using a permanent marker, doodle onto the surface as desired.
- Add a layer of bumpy Gesso for texture. Once Gesso is completely dried, doodle and add free-hand lettering.
- Add ribbons and trim onto a bike wheel.
- Use E6000 to glue the mixed media piece to center of the wheel. Add a piece of old cardboard to the back of the wheel to protect the wall when hung up. Add ribbon for the hanger.
