Be A Deer Wreath

Greet guests with this winter-themed door wreath in seasonal Americana Acrylic color and Glamour Dust sparkle.

SUPPLIES

    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • sandpaper
    • hot glue gun and glue sticks
    • tack rag
    • 1" foam brush
    • Ashland grapevine wreath
    • weeping pine bush
    • wood oval simple shape
    • laser-cut frame ornament
    • wooden reindeer
    • laser-cut wooden snowflakes
    • brown Sharpie® paint marker
    • clear fishing line

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Sand the wooden deer before painting and wipe off with a tack rag.
    2. Using a 1" foam brush, basecoat the deer with a mixture of Mississippi Mud and Light Buttermilk.
    3. After its completely dry, add some Dark Chocolate to the edges of the deer with a dry foam brush.
    4. Basecoat the wooden snowflakes with the foam brush and Snow White.
    5. When dry, add a few coats of Ice Crystal (with foam brush) to create a subtle shimmer on snowflakes.
    6. Paint the wooden frame ornament Santa Red with the foam brush.
    7. With the foam brush paint the oval shape Snow White.
    8. Add quote, "Be A Deer" to the surface of the painted oval shape with a brown paint marker.
    9. Hot glue Santa Red frame on the top of the completed oval shape.
    10. To assemble: cut the weeping pine bush into three or four separate branches. Secure the branches to the wreath with fishing line and hot glue. Add the deer to the base of the wreath with hot glue. (Try to find secure spot for deer's hooves in grapevine.) Add snowflakes by attaching them with hot glue and securing in place with fishing line. Attach the "Be A Deer" frame in the bottom center of the wreath with fishing line.
