Remember all of your important dates with this wall plaque created using Americana® Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

• sandpaper
• scissors
• ruler
• soft cloth
• pencil
• 3/4" flat brush
• foam brush
• flat thumbtacks
• ribbon
• hanger
• wooden wall plaque

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

This project can be done using any color combination.

1. Begin with a 12" x 16" wooden wall plaque from Michael's.

2. Paint the entire surface of the plaque with Slate Grey. Allow to dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.

3. Measure the size of the numbers. Using very light pencil marks, map out a grid for the placement of the numbers. (Allow a 1" margin all around the border of the plaque.)

4. Divide the rest of the spaces evenly to accommodate 3 sets of numbers across and 5 sets of numbers down. (For more or fewer dates, divide the spaces accordingly.)

5. Position the Vintage Numbers Stencils on the plaque, lining up the numbers next to each other. (For the best adhesion, make sure the paint is thoroughly dry.) Use a stencil brush or craft foam brush to apply White Wash to the stencil. (Be careful not to get paint outside of the stencil lines. If that does happen, just touch up with a little more Slate Grey.)

6. Use a pencil eraser to erase the light pencil marks.

7. Cut a piece of ribbon 16" long. Use thumbtacks to attach the ribbon to the back of the plaque.

8. Use sandpaper to rough the edges and various spots on the plaque, revealing the wood underneath.

9. Water down some Milk Chocolate. Use a soft cloth or paper towel to apply the paint to the exposed wood areas. Be sure to wipe off promptly to avoid over-staining the project.

10. Use a doorknob wall hanger from Michael's to hang the plaque.
