  • votive candleholders (without candle)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Glue the votives together with E6000 Glue to create a worm-like figure. Use painter's tape to secure the pieces together until the glue dries.
    Step 0 Example
  2. Paint the glued votives in Deep Turquoise. Allow to dry and re-apply.
    Step 1 Example
  3. Dry-brush the underside of the caterpillar in Baby Blue. Dry-brush the sides in Aquamarine; the top in Amethyst; and the very top in Pink Tourmaline.
    Step 2 Example
  4. Use the pattern provided to create the fez hat out of the felt: Make a tube with the felt and adjust it to fit on the caterpillar's head; hot glue the edge down; and clip it together until it dries. For the tassel, cut seven pieces of yarn 8" long. Tie five pieces of the yarn in the middle with a yarn piece. Tie the last piece of yarn to the end of the tassel. (See photo.)
    Step 3 Example
  5. Using the pattern provided, cut the circle out of the felt. Hot glue it to the top of the hat and let dry. Hot glue the yarn to the center of the circle and then glue the jewel over it. Cut a piece of yarn to create a border around the top edge of the hat and hot glue it into place. (See photo for placement.) Hot glue the hat onto the caterpillar's head.
    Step 4 Example
  6. Use the pattern provided to paint the face. Outline the eyes, eyebrows, nose, and mouth in Black Tie. Paint the circles around the caterpillar's eyes in Eggplant. Dry-brush a small amount of Pink Tourmaline to his cheeks.
