    Step 0 Example
  2. Cut out the star from the stiffened burlap.
  3. Use painter's tape as a guide to paint the edges and/or center of the star.
    Step 2 Example
  4. On one star, paint the outside perimeter in Festive Red. Once paint is completely dry, paint over the perimeter in Sizzling Red. Paint the center in White Pearl. Once dry, paint Ice Crystal on top.
    Step 3 Example
  5. On another star, tape off the outside perimeter. Paint the inside, Festive Red. Once completely dry, paint over the inside with Sizzling Red.
  6. On another star, tape off the outside perimeter of the star. First, paint the inside in Ice Blue. Once completely dry, paint the inside with Sapphire Blue.
  7. Use tape as a guide to paint the edges and/or center of the star. On one star, paint the outside perimeter in White Pearl. Once paint is completely dry, paint over outside with Ice Crystal. Paint the center in Ice Blue. Once dry, paint Sapphire Blue on top.
  8. Fold each point of the star in half, stopping at the mid-point of the star. Repeat with each of the five points.

  9. Once all of the points have been creased, fold and press two corners together. Crease the line between them. Repeat with each point of the star.
    Step 8 Example
  10. Open and gently adjust the star until it reaches the desired shape.
    Step 9 Example
  11. Optional: If hanging the stars, loop a piece of twine and hot glue it onto the back of star. (Note: The star is also sturdy enough to lean against something to stand.)

HELPFUL HINTS

By stiffening the burlap before you cut out the star shape, you can eliminate frayed and messy ends on the stars.
