INSTRUCTIONS
- Using a 3/4" flat brush, very loosely paint the canvas vertically in Cobalt Teal Hue, Phthalo Green-Blue, Primary Cyan, and Titanium White. (Dip the brush in water after every stroke for a watercolor look so that the paint colors will blend.)
- Mix (1) part water with (1) part Titanium White in a small plastic cup. Hold the canvas up and use a pipette to stream the mix vertically down the canvas (for rain effect).
- Place the Americana Doily Stencil on scrapbook paper and use a cosmetic sponge to dab on Primary Cyan.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush to adhere the stenciled paper "umbrella" to the left side of the canvas with Matte Medium. Use scissor to cut off the excess.
- Trace the girl's face on a piece of paper with a pencil. Use a #8 flat brush to paint in Titan Buff. Use a #8 round brush to paint the eyes with Titanium White and Phthalo Green-Blue; outline in Carbon Black. Trace the body and hair onto the scrapbook paper and cut out with scissors. Adhere into place with a 3/4" flat brush and Matte Medium. (Refer to photo for placement.)
- Trace and cut out the hat from scrapbook paper and flowers from the floral scrapbook paper. Adhere into place using a 3/4" flat brush with Matte Medium. Use a #8 round brush to paint the arms and umbrella handle in Titan Buff. Use a #8 round brush to paint the gloves; detail and outline in Carbon Black.
- Use a #8 round brush to randomly splatter the canvas with Primary Cyan.
