Painted Odds and Ends Desk Drawer Tray

SUPPLIES

Crafter's Acrylic®

  • Soft Coral (DCA142)
  • Truly Blue (DCA79)
  • Turquoise (DCA42)
  • White (DCA01)
  • Yellow Gold (Metallic) (DCA146)

Other supplies

  • water container
  • palette or plastic plate
  • paper towels
  • pencil
  • #6 flat brush
  • #10 flat brush
  • tracing & transfer paper
  • #1 round brush
  • plastic desk organizer

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Make sure the desk organizer is clean and dust free.
    Step 0 Example
  2. Use a flat brush and load with White to base coat the entire tray. Rinse brush.

  3. Use a flat brush and load with Gold to paint the top edges of the tray. Rinse brush.

  4. Use a pencil to trace and transfer the patterns to the sections of the tray or feel free to switch it up!

  5. Use both a flat and a round brush with coral to paint around the letters and designs in the sections of the tray. Rinse brush.

  6. Use both a flat and a round brush with blue to paint around the designs in the sections of the tray. Rinse brush.

  7. Use both a flat and mix Turquoise with White to paint around the designs in the sections of the tray. With the round brush highlight the envelope. Use the handle end of brush with just the turquoise to add dots to the glasses. Rinse brush.

  8. Use a round brush and load with Coral to paint on the triangle pattern in the section. Rinse brush.

  9. Use a flat brush and load with Blue to paint the top section. Rinse brush.

  10. Use a lid of a fine tip sharpie or any circle object you have to dip into white and add circles to the background of the key section. Then use a round brush with white to paint the words "Odds & Ends" on and touch up keys. Rinse brush.

  11. Use a round with gold to add to the keys. Rinse brush then use same brush to add more white details. Rinse brush. Once it is dry you have the cutest organizer for your home office or at work!
