Trash to Treasure Teapot

Give an old teapot new life with DecoArt Media paints and finishes.

Items needed :

  • DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics - Titan Buff
  • DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics - Titanium White
  • DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics - Metallic Gold
  • DecoArt Media Antiquing Creams - Patina Green
  • DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics - Burnt Umber
  • DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics - Raw Umber
  • DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics - Green Gold
  • DecoArt Media Mediums and Specialty Products - Crackle Glaze - Clear
  • DecoArt Media Mediums and Specialty Products - Gesso - White
  • Americana Multi-Surface Satin Acrylics 2oz - White Birch
  • Old teapot
  • Paint brushes
  • Die cut swirl shapes
  • Die cut leaves
  • Half pearl beads
  • Glue

Instructions :

Original Teapot in a chipped and cracked condition.

Teapot given two coats of Multi Surface paint.

Die cut grunge board swirls and ivy leaves are glued into position along with half pearls.

DecoArt Media line products used to antique the teapot.

Two coats of fluid acrylic in Titan Buff are applied.

Die cut swirls and half pearls are colored with a mix of Green Gold fluid acrylic & Gold metallic acrylic.

Areas of the teapot are roughly dry brushed with Raw Umber fluid acrylic.

The teapot is covered with crackle glaze.

The blue/green tone is achieved by coating the teapot with Patina Antiquing Cream which is wiped away using a baby wipe.

Metallic gold is added to the rim of the pot over the crackle glaze.
