Oh Christmas Tree

Oh Christmas Tree
Hello and a quick question for you! Are you ready for Christmas? I am not, but I wanted to jump in real quick and share this super easy, and creative ornament you can make. Have you managed to create a little something special for your holiday decorating or for your co-workers? If you don't have much time, but want to make something super special for a group of friends then this project is perfect for you. With a few supplies and an afternoon or evening of creating you can make a handful of these beautiful trees (or more) for everyone you know.

I'm lucky that my Dad has a great workshop and likes to cut little wood shapes for me, but if you don't have that, you can always use thick chipboard, balsa wood that you can cut with an x-acto blade or other thin substrates. If you end up using a thinner piece for your base, you can always punch a hole in the top of the tree to use as your hanger instead of inserting the Memo Pin.

Thank you for joining me, and have a super wonderful Christmas season, and if you don't celebrate Christmas I hope your Holiday Season is wonderful!

What kind of wood did you use?

Did you miss a step in your tutorial? I followed it to a T and somehow I missed where you used the antiquing cream. Does that need to be used before the crackle is put on? They are stunning trees and would love to have some for myself!

I am having trouble getting the crackle medium to crack. I think Im doing it right but all of the other videos Ive watched on this product they all use paint over the crackle medium. Help! I love these ornaments!

What a lovely ornament! It is classy and chic, yet kind of farmhouse friendly. Easy enough for any amateur crafter to make! Thanks for sharing such a beautiful ornament.

I really really like these and want to make for my "Greats" for Christmas this year, 2019, Can you tell me what size, type of wood board you used? I'm guessing a 1x6 and pine. But how did you get those memo pens to go in so easy?

Hi Lisa - It looks like Catherine used a Wood Triangle (approximately 2 3/4" wide by 5 1/8" tall), but we aren't sure what type of wood it was. Also, it looks like she poked a hole with a tool before adding the memo pins to help them go in easier.
