I was born in Wisconsin but have spent most of my life in Southern California. I began teaching myself to paint in watercolor and oils in 1980. Encouraged by my husband, I took a decorative painting class and after that class decided that I would like to open a decorative painting studio. In 1986 my dream came true, and the Tole Bridge opened its doors in Norco, CA. Today, I teach decorative painting and fine art classes throughout the U.S. and Canada. I would also welcome teaching international classes. I work in many different styles, using oils, acrylics and watercolors, and continue my education in fine art and impressionism. I have been a member of the Society of Decorative Painters since 1985. Over the years, I have had 15 books published. Several of my books that are out-of-print are now available on CD-ROM. I have more than 100 pattern packets designed and all are available. There are four videos for the Perfect Palette Studio and one for Interactive Magazine. Artists and crafters will find many of my projects in Paint Works magazine. I have my own line of specialty brushes designed to make it easier for the student to paint landscapes and flowers. For the artist in you, I offer a specialty line of archival polyester canvases, in a wide variety of sizes and that can be specially ordered, that are a dream to work with. However, through all of my life's adventures, I still find teaching the most rewarding.
