You can find the tree cut-outs here and the gift boxes here. These products are also available at many local craft retailers.
Items Needed:
- Americana Acrylics 2oz - Jadeite Glass (DA388-3)
- Americana Acrylics 2oz - Lilac Meadow (DA367-3)
- Beacon Adhesives Fabri-Tac
- Unfinished Wood Tree Cutouts
- White Gift Boxes
- Paint Brush
- Plate Or Paint Palette
Instructions:
Gather together your desired paint colors. The beauty of this simple craft project is how easy it is to customize! We've listed the Americana® Acrylic colors used in these photos above in case you wish to use them.
Squeeze the desired paint colors onto a plate or paint palette. Separate the top and bottom of the gift box. Dip your paint brush into the paint color of your choice and apply the paint to the top and bottom of the gift box, then set them aside to dry.
While your gift boxes are drying, start working on the Christmas trees. Apply the paint color of your choice to the tops and sides of your trees and set them aside to dry. Try out a variety of contrasting paint colors for a fun effect!
TIP: For best results, let the paint dry overnight. The minimum wait time should be 2 hours.
Once everything is dry, apply Fabri-Tac glue to the back of each painted tree and apply them directly to the top of the painted gift boxes. Let them dry before moving to ensure the glue holds.
Didn't these turn out gorgeous? We love these fun and bright colors!
You can also glue these wooden trees to more than just gift boxes. Don't be afraid to get creative! Projects like this are as fun to make as they are to use.
